Prayer of the Faithful

We thirst for the gift of life-giving water. Let us pray that Jesus will come soon.

For the Church in Liverpool, and especially for Archbishop Sherrington,

may he feel supported as he begins his mission in the Archdiocese.

For growth in compassion,

that each of us might find consolation in a personal relationship with Jesus and learn to have compassion for the world.

For an end to unjust and inhumane starvation, and an end to hostilities in those countries where the price is paid by innocent children.

For those involved in the media,

that they use their skills, wisdom and responsibility to ensure accurate and fair reporting.

On World Environment Day, we pray that the human family seeks a sustainable and integral development.

O God, who desired that all would believe that you sent us your only Son, show your wonders and grant these petitions. Amen.
